Privacy in the Snoozone app

August 2026Updated

This is a translation. In case of doubt the German version at digosoft.de/apps/snoozone/datenschutz prevails.

In short

Snoozone collects no personal data. Destinations, radii and your location stay on your iPhone. The only connection to the outside is place search, which uses Apple's map service.

Location data

The app follows your position to work out the distance to your destination and to fire the alarm. This processing happens exclusively on the device. Positions are not transmitted, not logged and not stored as a route.

The app needs "Always" access for this, because the alarm has to fire while the screen is locked and the app is closed. You can withdraw the permission in the iOS settings at any time; the alarm can then no longer fire.

What is stored on the device

  • Your destinations with name, coordinates and radius.
  • Saved places you created yourself.
  • The state of an armed alarm.

This lives in a local database in the app's protected storage. It is not mirrored to a cloud service and is not visible to us. Deleting the app removes it completely.

Place search through Apple Maps

When you search for a destination, your input goes to Apple's map service, because the app uses the MapKit system interface for it. Apple processes the request as its own controller and Apple's privacy policy applies. Without search the app still works if you use a saved destination.

Alarm through AlarmKit

The wake-up call runs through the AlarmKit system interface. The operating system therefore learns that an alarm is registered and when it fires. That information stays on the device.

No sharing, no tracking

The app contains no analytics services, no ad networks and no third-party crash reporting. There is no tracking within the meaning of Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, and no advertising identifier is used.

Legal basis

Because the app transmits no personal data to us, no processing by us takes place within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation. If you write to us by email, we process your details under Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR in order to answer your enquiry, and delete them once they are no longer needed.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

Changes

If the app changes in a way that makes this policy inaccurate, the policy is updated before the new version is published. The date in the margin shows when that last happened.
